Following the sale of Victor Munoz to Osasuna, Real Madrid have now confirmed that another youngster, Rafel Obrador, has left the club to sign for SL Benfica.
“Real Madrid CF and Sport Lisboa e Benfica have reached an agreement for the transfer of our player Rafel Obrador,” the statement from the club read.
“Real Madrid thanks him for his work and commitment during his time at Real Madrid, and wishes him and his family all the best in this new stage of his life.”
Obrador, 21, joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2020 and enjoyed a steady rise through the academy ranks.
The youngster impressed with Castilla before spending the last season on loan at Deportivo La Coruna, where he had a solid campaign.
Having returned to the club, Obrador has now left Real Madrid permanently, joining SL Benfica – a move that is set to pave the way for Alvaro Carreras to join the Merengues from the Portuguese heavyweights.
As per reports, Real Madrid will receive a transfer fee of €5 million for the 21-year-old left-back from the Portuguese giants.
In addition, the Spanish capital heavyweights will also retain a future buyback clause for their academy product.
