With the first international break of the 2025/26 season almost here, national teams have been announcing the squads for their respective fixtures coming up in early September.

The latest to do is Spain manager Luis de la Fuente as he prepares to pit his team against Bulgaria and Turkey in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers. And, two players from Real Madrid have been included in the La Roja squad.

Indeed, veteran right-back Dani Carvajal and new signing Dean Huijsen have both been named in the Spain squad by De la Fuente.

Carvajal only recently came back from almost an year out through an ACL injury and has only had a few games under his belt. But that was enough for De la Fuente to have him in the squad.

As for Huijsen, since making his debut for Spain earlier this year, the young centre-back has carved out a place for himself in the team.

However, there is no place in the team for the left-back duo of Fran Garcia and Alvaro Carreras in the Spain roster, whereas striker Gonzalo Garcia, who has enjoyed his breakthrough in recent months, and Raul Asencio also do not make the cut.

Dani Ceballos also continues to be excluded from the Spain roster.
