La Liga outfit Real Betis have on Sunday announced a departure from the club’s first-team squad.
The player to have moved on just weeks into the new Spanish top-flight campaign? Rodri.
The name of attacking midfielder Rodri had of course emerged as an altogether prominent one in Seville across the week to date.
This came amid confirmation that the 24-year-old had made his way firmly onto the radar of one of the Middle East’s leading clubs.
With the transfer window in Qatar still very much open, Rodri was earmarked as the ideal addition by Qatar Stars League outfit Al-Arabi.
Something of a bit-part player in Manuel Pellegrini’s squad, Betis, in turn, opened to a potential sale, for the right price.
And, evidently, the brass at Al-Arabi late this week agreed to fork over precisely that.
As per a statement across Real Betis’ website and social media platforms:
‘Real Betis Balompié and Al-Arabi SC of Qatar have reached an agreement for the transfer of Rodri Sánchez. The Club thanks him for his services and wishes him luck in his future professional challenges.’
