Orlando Pirates have confirmed the departure of Katlego Otladisa, who is now eligible to sign for any team of his choice as he is available on the market as a free agent.
The 28-year-old winger put pen to paper on a three-year deal when he joined the Soweto giants from Marumo Gallants in July 2023 and now departs the club with a year left on his contract.
Otladisa found it difficult to establish himself in the starting XI and the matchday squad under then-head coach Jose Riveiro. Last season, he only made the matchday squad once in October but was an unused substitute.
As a result, Otladisa spent the latter part of the 2024/25 campaign on a season-long loan to Sekhukhune United in a bid to get regular game time and rediscover the form he displayed at Bahlabane Ba Ntwa.
The attacker made 11 appearances across all competitions for Babina Noko, scoring two goals and providing a solitary assist. However, his minutes diminished in the wake of Eric Tinkler’s appointment as Lehlohonolo Seema’s successor in March.
Prior to joining Sekhukhune in January, the skillful player attracted interest from a host of Betway Premiership clubs, including Golden Arrows, Polokwane City, while his former employers Gallants were reportedly interested in a reunion.
It remains to be seen whether the clubs will reignite their interest in the player, with the 2025/26 season well underway and the Premier Soccer League (PSL) transfer window set to slam shut next month.
Meanwhile, the Buccaneers have already parted ways with Miguel Timm, Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo, Azola Tshobeni, while Paseka Mako and Thabiso Monyane have found a new home at fierce rivals Kaizer Chiefs.
