Los Angeles FC have officially announced the signing of Olivier Giroud (37) from AC Milan. The French forward will be free to join up with his new club during the summer after the Serie A campaign finishes, putting an end to a three-year stay in the North of Italy.

LAFC have confirmed that the former World Cup winner will be provided with a one-year contract with an option to extend this for one further year until 2026, in a move that will see the veteran striker reunited with his international teammate Hugo Lloris (37) who joined the MLS club earlier this club.

Commenting on the next stage in his illustrious career, Giroud was quoted in the LAFC press release as stating, “I am delighted and excited to join LAFC. I can’t wait to get to Los Angeles and to play in front of the 3252 and all of the incredible fans.”

Despite his age, Giroud remains a coup for LAFC, with the Frenchman proving throughout his time at Milan that he remains a dangerous force when leading the attack. In his first season at the Rossoneri, the Frenchman helped Milan to the title.
