Nice have this week confirmed the sale of Calvin Stengs to Feyenoord, with the Dutch winger returning to his home country two years after initially making the move from AZ Alkmaar to the south of France.
After scoring one goal in 26 appearance in all competitions in his first campaign with Les Aiglons, Stengs was sent out on loan to Royal Antwerp this past season. With the Flemish side, he saw an upturn in form scored three times. He was a part of the team that achieved the Belgian domestic double – the title was secured with a dramatic final-day strike from Toby Alderweireld.
According to L’Équipe, the 24-year-old has been sold to the Dutch champions for a sum close to the €8m mark -€2m of which are add-ons, while Nice will also receive a percentage of his future transfer fee. He will be hoping to rediscover his form back at home and stake a claim for a spot in the national team, having been absent from call-ups since 2021.
