Official new Newcastle United training update gives clues for Chelsea match availability | OneFootball

The club have released a new Newcastle United training gallery of photos.

The images released, showing Newcastle United players training ahead of Sunday’s match.

A bit of insight…potentially, into who may and may not be available for this game, as Newcastle United take on Chelsea at St James’ Park.

The photos published by Newcastle United featuring training and the following first team squad players involved from what we could see:

Harvey Barnes, Sven Botman, Dan Burn, Martin Dubravka, Anthony Gordon, Bruno Guimaraes, Alexander Isak, Emil Krafth, Sean Longstaff, Lewis Miley, Jacob Murphy, Will Osula, Nick Pope, Fabian Schar, Sandro Tonali,  Odysseas Vlachodimos, Callum Wilson

As you can see, 17 first team squad players featuring in the official training photos released.

Earlier on Friday, Eddie Howe on team news:

“We have a couple of players we are assessing and we will see how they are this weekend, other than that we have trained well all week.”

Eddie Howe on Anthony Gordon, who is targeting a first Premier League start since February:

“He’s pushing.

“This is his best week physically.

“He had an issue he picked up with England and it’s taken him a while to get back to full fitness.

“He did well when he came on against Brighton and he adds a different dimension to our game, directness and running.”

Eddie Howe on Joelinton:

“I saw Joe yesterday for the first time in a while because he had been away getting treatment.

“He returned to Brazil briefly but he has been back in Barcelona for another injection and I think he is feeling pretty good.

“Whether we see him before the end of the season though, I’m not sure.”

No surprise that as well as Lewis Hall, Jamaal Lascelles and Matt Targett, Joelinton also can’t be seen joining in with group training in these images.

However, when you put these Newcastle United training images together with what Eddie Howe had to say earlier today, when he said about how the squad had trained well all week but a ‘couple of people we are assessing’…

Many fans will no doubt will be then thinking about Tino Livramento, Joe Willock and Kieran Trippier, who the most noteworthy trio that can’t be spotted in the official training images released.
