RC Strasbourg goalkeeper Matz Sels (31) has signed for Premier League Nottingham Forest for 8M€, according to the Premier League club’s official Twitter account.

The Belgian stopper, who already has experience of English football after a spell at Newcastle United during their 2016/2017 Championship season in which he made 14 appearances for the Magpies, will link up with Nuno Espirito Santo’s side with the Midlands outfit in 16th place in the Premier League, two points above the relegation zone.

Sels has made 19 Ligue 1 appearances for Strasbourg this season, keeping three clean sheets as the Alsace side sit 10th, unbeaten since a 2-1 reverse at Reims on December 1st. In total, the goalkeeper has made 175 appearances for Le Racing, keeping 42 clean sheets in the process.

Strasbourg entertain champions Paris Saint-Germain this Friday evening, hoping for a big scalp and to continue their unbeaten run. Nottingham Forest travel to Bournemouth on Sunday.
