Official | Lille sign NEC left-back Calvin Verdonk for €3m | OneFootball

Lille have announced the signing of Calvin Verdonk (28) from Portuguese club NEC for a reported fee of €3m. The Dutch-born left-back, who represents Indonesia at international level, has signed a permanent deal with Les Dogues.

Verdonk, who came through Feyenoord’s academy, has spent much of his career in the Netherlands, enjoying spells at Utrecht, Twente and NEC before moving to Portugal. Known for his pace and attacking instincts down the left flank, he will provide Bruno Génésio’s side with depth and experience in defence.

The 28-year-old has earned 10 caps for Indonesia since making his debut last year, and in joining Lille becomes the first-ever Indonesian international to feature in Ligue 1. His arrival is seen as a low-cost but intriguing addition to a squad that will be competing on multiple fronts this season.GFFN | George Boxall
