RC Lens have announced in an official communiqué that they have secured the services of Ghanaian defensive midfielder Salis Abdul Samed (23) for an additional season, recently signing a contract extension until June 2028.

In compliance with regulations, the northern-based club had to wait for the transfer market to open before finalizing the contract extension. Samed, who earned four international caps with Ghana, initially joined Lens on a five-season deal in the summer of 2022, which was set to expire in 2027.

Lens general directer Arnaud Pouille stated, “We begin this summer transfer window with the extension of a key player in our team, both in terms of performance and spirit: Salis Abdul Samed. Beyond his emergence at the highest level, beyond his impressive performance at the World Cup with Ghana, beyond his consistency, he embodies the joy of this group and is one of the leaders in terms of commitment and festive character. Extending Salis’s contract was a no-brainer. It is a symbol that illustrates our approach of starting with continuity. Congratulations, Salis, and we look forward to seeing you compete in continental competitions!”
