Serbian champions Red Star Belgrade have this afternoon announced the signing of Ivorian striker Jean-Philippe Krasso from Saint-Étienne, with the 25-year-old signing a four-year contract.
The forward’s move east was initially revealed by L’Équipe, with his departure from Les Verts on a free transfer confirmed after an impressive season in the second tier.
Krasso found the net 17 times, and was key in steering the former Ligue 1 champions clear of relegation after a disastrous start to the campaign, having returned to the club after a loan deal at Ajaccio the previous year. He also provided 12 assists in Ligue 2, for a career-best season to date.
The Germany-born striker will be playing in the Champions League group stage with his new club this upcoming season, after Crvena Zvezda managed a domestic double last year in which they went unbeaten. The transfer to Serbia will be Krasso’s first experience playing abroad.
