Inter Milan have released their official squad list for the 2023-24 Champions League group stage, with Stefano Sensi missing out whilst Davy Klaassen and Kristjan Asllani feature.
The club have confirmed the 23-player list, as reported by FCInterNews.
Inter will kick off their Champions League campaign for the 2023-24 season on September 20. They will travel away to San Sebastian to face Real Sociedad.
And now, the Nerazzurri have confirmed which players will be available in the squad for that match.
Conspicuously absent from the squad is midfielder Sensi. The injury-prone 28-year-old has already featured in Serie A for Inter, but he will play no part in Europe, at least for the group stage.
However, two other midfielders whose presence in the squad list was a doubt will feature.
Deadline day signing Klaassen is on the list. As is 21-year-old Albanian international Asllani, a player who hasn’t always found playing time easy to come by for the Nerazzurri.
Whilst Italian international and former Sassuolo midfielder Sensi is a notable absentee, otherwise Inter’s squad list contains all the senior players in their squad.
There are no big shocks.
The squad list includes three goalkeepers and six defenders. In midfield, Sensi’s absence means that Inter have called up six players for the competition.
And then there are four strikers and four wingbacks.
There are several new faces – twelve in total – compared to the team that reached last season’s final.
Inter’s complete squad list for the 2023-24 Champions League group stage is as follows:
1. Yann Sommer 2. Denzel Dumfries 6. Stefan de Vrij 7. Juan Cuadrado 8. Marko Arnautovic 9. Marcus Thuram 10. Lautaro Martinez 12. Raffaele Di Gennaro 14. Davy Klaassen 15. Francesco Acerbi 16.
