Ibrahim Sangare has put pen to paper on a new contract with PSV, one that expires in 2027.

The midfielder has been linked with a move away from Eindhoven all summer, with a number of top clubs rumoured to be interested in him, including AC Milan and Manchester United.

Those rumours have now been put to an end though with the Ivorian signing a new five-year deal that guarantees he’ll stay for the upcoming season at the very least and would only leave for a hefty transfer fee after that.

“Since the first day I feel at home, the way I am received and how people treat me, makes me very happy,” he told the PSV website.

”I want to become champion with PSV and reach the UEFA Champions League.”

John de Jong, the club’s Director of Football, admits there was interest in the player.

It is clear that Ibrahim is an interesting player for many clubs, so we are happy that he has chosen to extend his contract,” he said.

“With PSV we have the ambition to improve compared to last season and Ibrahim would like to contribute to that. That’s why it’s so good that he gives clarity to PSV early in August.”
