The length of the 18-year-old’s contract is currently unknown, but he has signed a ‘long-term’ deal with the Sinsheim side.

On the signing of Zeitler, sporting director Andreas Schicker said:

“Deniz is a highly talented player who, at just 18 years old, still has a lot of potential for development and is therefore definitely a signing for the future. He can play in various attacking positions and caused quite a stir last season with convincing performances and goals for Ingolstadt in the 3. Liga, We want to develop him into a Bundesliga player in the long term and are convinced that he will leave his mark at TSG. Deniz has attracted a lot of interest from other top-class clubs this summer, so we are very pleased that he has ultimately decided to move to TSG with full conviction.”

Fellow Baden-Würrtemberg side Stuttgart were also interested in Zeitler, but he ultimately decided to join Hoffenheim and will split his time between the senior side and their second team, who will play in the 3.Liga this season.

Last season, Zeitler made 31 appearances for Ingolstadt in the third division, where he scored eight and assisted three goals. His form earned him a call-up to the Germany under-19s.

This is Hoffenheim’s fifth signing of the summer.
