Le Havre AC is adding some more experience to its backline in an effort to secure their Ligue 1 status for next season.
On Thursday, the club announced the signing of Fodé Ballo-Touré (28), who will join the Normandy club on a six-month contract.
The move comes two days after the Senegalese international and AC Milan agreed to mutually terminate their contract, which was set to expire in June 2025.
Ballo-Touré had been primarily with the Milan youth team this season and now has the chance to slide into the first team in France for a side in desperate need of a spark.
Le Havre are on a seven-match winless run across all competitions and four points below the relegation line.
Trained at Paris Saint-Germain, the left-back has plenty of Ligue 1 experience, earning over 100 appearances combined in the French top flight at AS Monaco and Lille OSC, respectively.
The Serie A champion at AC Milan in 2021-22 was a part of Senegal’s first-ever triumph at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations. He was also selected to the national team for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, making one appearance as a substitute in their round of 16 defeat against England (3-0). Le Havre host Stade Brestois 29 on Sunday at Stade Océane.
