A key figure in Udinese Calcio’s previous Italian Serie A campaign will be sticking around a little longer.

The club agreed on Wednesday to extend the contract of captain Florian Thauvin (32) until June 2026.

A World Cup champion with France in 2018, the former Olympique de Marseille striker arrived at Udinese in January 2023 after struggling to find his footing with Mexican side Tigres in Liga MX. In 2024-25 he made 25 appearances for I Bianconeri in the Italian top flight, finding the back of the net eight times.

Since arriving at the Italian club, he has scored 15 goals and registered 10 assists. He’s appeared in 73 Serie A matches over that span in two and a half seasons in Italy. Last season, he helped them finish 12th in the league.

He has made 10 appearances with Les Bleus, scoring just once on the international stage.
