Fiorentina have now confirmed the signing of Italian full-back Fabiano Parisi, who has arrived from Empoli.

A host of other clubs were keen on signing Parisi and that includes Lazio and Juventus. But Fiorentina paid a base fee of 10 million to sign the Italian and they are also expected to pay some bonuses to Empoli.

The club have confirmed that the left-back has joined Fiorentina as he arrives on a permanent basis, with personal terms having been agreed some days ago and he arrived for his medical yesterday.

Parisi has been an important player for the Azzurri over the last few seasons and last season, he played 33 Serie A games and scored twice while racking up two assists.

On the same day, Fiorentina have also announced that Cristiano Biraghi has signed a new deal and this suggests that Parisi and Biraghi would be La Viola’s options at left-back next season.
