Next Monday, Inter return to Serie A action from the international break.

The Nerazzurri will host Empoli at the San Siro in their thirtieth league match of the season.

For Inter, the aim will be to get straight back to winning ways after the last couple matches before the break.

The Nerazzurri were first dumped out of the Champions League by Atletico Madrid.

Then, in Inter’s last match before the break, Napoli secured a point late on – in a match that became overshadowed by controversy in the form of an alleged racial abuse incident.

Despite dropping points for the first time in 2024 against the Partenopei, Inter still have a massive advantage at the top of the table.

The Nerazzurri are currently fourteen points clear of city rivals AC Milan.

Therefore, it seems only a mater of “when” rather than “if” Inter go on and win the Serie A title.

Nevertheless, Inter will need to pick up points and avoid any further slowdown in form if they’re to ensure that they clinch the title from this position.

Meanwhile, Empoli are currently fighting to keep themselves in Serie A.

The Tuscans are currently just one point clear of the relegation places in the league table. That ensures that there will certainly be no lack of motivation from them to get a shock result against Inter.

Francesco Dionisi To Referee Inter Vs Empoli Clash – Valerio Marini On VAR

The referee for Sunday’s match will be Federico Dionisi.

Assisting Dionisi in his duties will be Filippo Valeriani and Domenico Fontemurato.

The role of the fourth official, meanwhile, will fall to Marco Monaldi.

In the VAR booth, Valerio Marini will oversee the match to ensure to correct any errors by the on-pitch officials.

Assisting Marini in his duties will be Maurizio Mariani.

Inter will be hoping that the focus stays on the action on the pitch rather than refereeing controversy.
