RC Strasbourg Alsace have announced that Emanuel Emegha (22) will captain the side for the upcoming season.

Last season, it was Habib Diarra who captained Strasbourg. However, as was always expected, he left the club this summer, joining Sunderland in a big money move and in doing so, garnering a record fee for Les Alsaciens.

Andrey Santos also captained the side on occasions last season, however, he too has left the club, returning to parent club Chelsea. Emegha has now been elected Strasbourg captain for the upcoming campaign. The Dutchman, who joined in a €13m move from Sturm Graz back in 2023, has now played 60 times for the French club.

In that time, he has netted 23 goals and registered five assists. This may be Emegha’s final season at the Meinau. It is reported that there is an agreement in place for him to join fellow BlueCo-owned side Chelsea next summer.
