AS Saint-Étienne have confirmed the arrival of left-back Ebenezer Annan (22) from Crvena zvezda (Red Star Belgrade) on a three-year contract.

Annan was developed in the Bologna academy system and made his professional debut for the Serie A side in 2021. However, he struggled for gametime, making only one further appearance for his formative club.

The defender was then sent out on loan in the Italian lower tiers, joining Imolese Calcio for the 2022/23 campaign, where he made 28 appearances. This was followed by a loan to Serbian club FK Novi Pazar in the 2023/24 campaign.

Annan, during this season in Serbia, caught the attention of Crvena zvezda, who bought him off Bologna. However, he was on the move again with his new club loaning him out to OFK Belgrade for the 2024/25 season, before deciding midway through the campaign to bring him back.

Saint-Étienne will be hoping that Annan can help the club return back to Ligue 1 at the first time of asking. Their season begins this weekend when they travel to Stade Lavallois.
