The French Football Federation have today announced the 2.5 year contract extension of Les Bleus Head Coach Didier Deschamps until December 2022, which is when the Qatar 2022 World Cup will come to an end.

During the press conference scheduled to make the announcement, FFF President Noël Le Graët set out the FA’s objectives for next summer’s EURO 2020 tournament:

“The final seems to me to be a possible aim. But it is never easy to get there. All of the teams are improving. The draw was not extremely favourable for us on paper (Germany & Portugal drawn in the same group). So we will have to get past the group stage first. But our team today is one of the best in the world. We are 2nd in the FIFA rankings. We would be unserious if we were not ambitious. The aim is therefore the final.”
