Barcelona would be ready to sell defender Jules Kounde this summer, with Inter Milan and Newcastle United among the interested clubs.
This according to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, via FCInterNews.
France international Kounde is currently coming to the end of his first season at Barcelona.
The former Sevilla and Bordeaux defender has made 44 appearances for the Blaugranas this campaign. That takes his total at the club to 84.
According to Mundo Deportivo, however, Barcelona would be willing to listen to offers for Kounde this summer.
The reason is not any dissatisfaction with the 25-year-old’s performances.
Rather, Barcelona must make sales this summer if they are to be able to finance incoming transfer business.
Therefore, the La Liga giants have been forced to choose which names from the squad they would be willing to sacrifice.
And MD report that Kounde would be high on the list of possible departures.
MD note that, should Kounde be on the market, there would not exactly be a shortage of interest in his signature.
The Spanish outlet that Chelsea, Manchester United, and Paris Saint-Germain are all among the clubs who would consider taking advantage of the situation and moving for Kounde.
Moreover, MD note, Inter and Newcastle are also keen.
For the Nerazzurri, Kounde would be a logical target in the sense that he can play at both right-back and centre-back.
In that sense, the 25-year-old is in a similar situation to Benjamin Pavard.
Inter signed Pavard from Bayern Munich last summer.
Pavard’s versatility made him a perfect candidate for the role on the right side of Inter’s back three.
Therefore, the Nerazzurri could be planning something similar for Kounde.
