Toulouse centre-back Jaydee Canvot (19) has officially joined Crystal Palace, both clubs have announced. The 19-year-old has penned a four-year deal with the Eagles. It has been reported that Toulouse and the Premier League side has agreed to a €27m for the highly-promising France youth international centre-back. Canvot will wear the No. 23 jersey at Palace.

Canvot broke through at his formative club Toulouse last season and has been identified by Get French Football News as a prospect to watch in our pre-season Ligue 1 guide. A versatile player with great anticipation and strong on the ball, he has often played at centre-back, but he is also capable in midfield, as he showed in Le TéFéCé’s win over OGC Nice on Saturday.

We are pleased to welcome him to South London“, said Palace Chairman Steve Parish. “His arrival bolsters a squad already brimming with talent and potential, and I look forward to seeing his impact both this season, and in the future, in red and blue.”
