An up-and-coming member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has this week sealed a move away from the club.
The player in question? Ángel Alarcón.
For those not familiar with his name, Alarcón is a 20-year-old attacker, who spent last season plying his trade on the books of Barca Atlètic.
The Spanish youth international can play anywhere across the frontline, with such versatility, coupled with his technical gifts, having seen Alarcón afforded his first-team bow by Xavi all the way back in January of 2023.
Ongoing fitness troubles had heavily restricted his involvement at senior level since, but it may nevertheless come as something of a surprise to hear that, this week, Barcelona have sanctioned a permanent exit for the Catalan native.
As per a statement across the website and social media platforms of Barca Atlètic:
‘FC Barcelona and FC Porto have reached an agreement for the transfer of Ángel Alarcón. The Barcelona club reserves 50% of the percentage of a future sale of the player.’
