A member of the attacking ranks at La Liga outfit Athletic Club has this week seen his efforts over the course of the recently-completed campaign recognised, by way of an individual accolade.

The player in question? Iñaki Williams.

Wide-man Iñaki is for his part fresh off an altogether productive season in the Basque Country in 2024/25.

Maintaining his status as one of the first names on the team sheet of boss Ernesto Valverde, the 30-year-old racked up 49 appearances across all competitions.

And along the way, Iñaki chipped in with an impressive haul of 13 goals and nine assists.

On Wednesday, it should therefore come as little surprise to hear of the Ghanaian international’s endeavours being rewarded.

As confirmed across social media, Iñaki has been named the African Player of the Year in La Liga for 2024/25.

This marks the second year in succession in which the attacker has clinched the award, an impressive feat for a player who continues to write his name into the history books of Athletic Club.
