RC Strasbourg Alsace have confirmed that Andrew Omobamidele’s (22) loan move from Nottingham Forest has been made permanent.
Omobamidele joined Strasbourg from Nottingham Forest in January on a loan deal with the option to make the move permanent at the end of the campaign. After a period of reflection, the decision was taken to exercise that option. It was the defender’s continued injury issues that made Les Alsaciens mull over the decision for as long as they did.
However, the decision has been taken to sign the defender on a permanent basis. The Irishman has signed a four-year deal, which will run until the summer of 2029. The fee has remained undisclosed.
Omobamidele’s permanent move to the Meinau comes after RCSA were beaten in the race to sign CJ Egan-Riley. The England youth international ultimately opted to sign for Olympique de Marseille, despite Les Alsaciens leading the race at one point.
