Al Nassr forward Sadio Mané (31) is set to become the new owner of French fourth tier side, Bourges 18. The announcement was made official on a Wednesday by the club, the municipal authorities, and the former Liverpool and Bayern Munich attacker himself.
Bourges 18 finds itself in a challenging position as the second-to-last team in Pool B of National 2, having garnered only four points in seven matches during the 2023-2024 season. Starting from January 1, 2024, Sadio Mané will officially assume ownership of the club hailing from central France, where he aims to develop a comprehensive sports and community-oriented project.
“We’ve been working with the city for the past three years. We’re here to nurture and organise the club. The challenge is immense, but if the people of Bourges remain involved, I’m confident we can achieve our goals.” In a video message, Mané, added, “I believe I’ll be visiting Bourges very soon.”
