This morning, AC Milan announced they will face SK Rapid in a pre-season friendly before their American tour. The fixture will be played on July 20 in Vienna.

There are just two Serie A matchdays to play in the 2023-24 season, and whilst second place has been secured, it has not been a season to remember, at least for the right reasons. Wounding defeats have been the tale of the year, which has seen Stefano Pioli’s stocks lose value consistently.

However, there is now a view to the future, and there is a lot to be excited about. Pioli has built incredible foundations for the team to be built upon by a new manager. Whilst nothing has been determined, Milan are believed to be at the ‘end of the soap opera’.

With this in mind, preparation for the new manager is underway, and excitement is building for the summer, where the Rossoneri are expected to invest heavily. The summer also is vital for the new manager to take stock of his players, and the team have had another fixture added to their calendar.

On their official website, the club announced they will face SK Rapid before their fixtures in America. The seventh fixture between the two, most recently played in the 1973-74 season, will be special because both clubs celebrate their 125th anniversaries next year.

The fixture will be played at the Allianz Stadion in Hutteldorf, Vienna, on Saturday, July 20, at 5:30 CEST.
