Nuri Sahin believes that Borussia Dortmund have an exceptional midfielder in Felix Nmecha, who appears to be finally finding his groove.

Borussia Dortmund signed Felix Nmecha from VfL Wolfsburg as their replacement for Jude Bellingham last summer amid much controversy and fan backlash. And while the 24 year old endured a difficult first season at the club, his sophomore campaign has gotten off to a fairly strong start.

Nmecha has established himself as a vital part of the Borussia Dortmund midfield in recent weeks, cementing his spot in the number six role and showcasing his effectiveness against the oppostion press, while also effortlessly bringing the ball forward.

During his pre-match press conference ahead of Borussia Dortmund's match against Sturm Graz in the UEFA Champions League, Sahin was full of praise of Nmecha's skills and potential. "I can only judge him based on the last ten or eleven months. But I think he has everything, he has an exceptional profile for a midfielder. He can play in the number six role, but can also play at number eight and ten."

"Now he needs to take the next step. And then we'll have a really good midfielder for the next few years. As a coach, you want players like that."

Felix Nmecha has made 13 appearances so far this season for Borussia Dortmund, and has two goals and two assists to his name.

The towering midfielder helped set up the equalising goal for BVB against RB Leipzig on Saturday with a fine header into the path of Maximilian Beier. After his strong performance against Leipzig, Nmecha will hope to keep his fine run of form going in the coming weeks and stake a claim for a return to the Germany set-up.
