In his pre-match press conference ahead of Tuesday’s Everton clash, Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo discussed Leander Dendoncker’s return to the pitch against Crystal Palace on Friday.
The 25-year-old has been missed four games over the festive period but is ready to contribute after a strong 85-minute outing during their 1-0 victory.
“He’s very valuable, since the beginning,” Nuno said. “He’s a top player and gives us many things, talented, the distances and the spaces that he can fulfill in the pitch are very important for us. I’m very happy.”
Nuno also took time to update supporters on a number of injuries, including Raúl Jiménez, whose progress has been encouraging, to say the least.
“We have [Willy] Boly out, we have Marcal out, we have problems, and we will try to find solutions for them. Jonny is improving, he’s doing very well, but he still has time to rejoin us again.
“It’s very good to have Raúl [Jiménez] around. It’s very good to see him improve. It’s very nice to see him smile and already doing some exercising in the gym and having the positive thought that he’s going to continue and rejoin us.
“This is what pleases me and everybody around the club more, that we’re going to have Raúl back.”
Though Wolves are in 13th place at the moment, they only remain seven points outside the top-four places.
