A first half strike from Antoine Semenyo was enough for Andoni Iraola’s team to secure three points despite going down to ten men when Milos Kerkez received a red card late in the game.

This result means Wolves are now winless in six Premier League games.

This result moved Bournemouth to tenth in the table, two points from West Ham who currently sit in eighth place. Gary O’Neil’s side have dropped to 12th.

Bournemouth created key chances consistently; top scorer Dominic Solanke, Justin Kluivert, Alex Scott and Kerkez all had individual efforts but Jose Sa was there to deny them.

After the break, Wolves got back on level terms through a Hwang Hee-Chan header, but the goal was ruled out as Stuart Atwell was asked to check the pitch-side monitor as the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) deemed Matheus Cunha had caught Kluivert with a swinging arm moments before the goal was scored.

Bournemouth continued their attacking threat but failed to find a second goal, and with just ten minutes left of normal time the Cherries were reduced to ten men.

Hungary left-back Kerkez received a straight red card for a challenge on Matt Doherty.

Iraola’s side continued to defend their lead and Wolves applied pressure to secure a point with Max Kilman finding the net in the 99th minute of added time, but to the annoyance of the home supporters the goal was ruled out for offside.

Wolves will face Luton Town in the next game, who currently sit 18th in the table, on home turf at Molineux. This is a 15:00 kick off on April 27.

Meanwhile the Cherries will return to the Vitality Stadium to face Brighton & Hove Albion on April 28, a 14:00 kick off.
