Notts County ended their first season back in the Football League with a whimper as they lost to already relegated Forest Green Rovers on the final day.

The Magpies finished in 14th place in League Two having spent four years in the National League, with the campaign that had shown signs of promise in the early stages derailing at the start of the new year.

But the ambition of promotion remains the same heading into the next campaign, with Stuart Maynard gearing up for his first full term in charge of the club, having arrived at Meadow Lane in January.

Despite the previous season only coming to its conclusion last weekend, plans are already in place for when the league restarts in August, with the new season ticket prices announced by the club on Monday morning.

Following on from their mid-table finish upon their return to the EFL, Notts County announced their new season ticket prices for the upcoming campaign.

At the start of April, it was announced that the club would be introducing a brand-new fanzone and events space, called The Nest, aiming to revolutionise the matchday experience at Meadow Lane while also providing extra revenue going forward.

The site, previously occupied by East Midlands Fabrications on Iremonger Road, is expected to be open ahead of EURO 2024 and is an exciting development for the Magpies as they continue to improve their sustainability off the pitch after previous financial troubles.

But along with this, Notts have released their new ticket prices for next season, and it's fair to say that supporters are thrilled with the announcement.

When compared to the prices shared upon their return from the National League, the most expensive early bird price for current season ticket holders was priced at £405, which works out at around £17.61 per game to sit in the Derek Pavis Stand.

It's even cheaper when looking at the Kop and Family Stand prices, with adults able to renew their seat at just £325, which is equivalent to £14.13 per match.

For new supporters wishing to purchase a season ticket, those prices are slightly more expensive, with seats ranging from £350 to £430 for adults, which is still incredibly great value for money at this level.

It further highlights the connection and positivity surrounding the club that has been built over the past two seasons, something which appears light years away when looking across the River Trent.

Despite yet to achieve Premier League status next season, Nottingham Forest released their season ticket prices for the 2024/25 campaign, with many supporters left outraged by the sharp increase in value for a ticket at the City Ground.

The new prices have been split into zones for the new term, and the club insist that they are among the best valued in the top flight, despite the possibility of playing Championship football next season.

When compared to the Magpies, the cheapest season ticket for an adult in Zone Four, which is ranked at the bottom of their system, is priced at £550, with the most expensive setting you back £850 if you want to renew your ticket in a Zone One seat.

For example, an adult season ticket in Zone One of the Brian Clough Upper stand has increased by 28% while a child's season ticket has increased by up to 111%.

And the news of Notts season ticket prices, could be of huge interest to Forest supporters who want to watch affordable, good-quality football that is local to them.

It remains to be seen whether prices at the City Ground will change should the Reds be relegated to the second tier, but it can only be good news for Notts and the potential stream of new fans coming to Meadow Lane next term.

With the exciting developments off the pitch and the amount of positivity surrounding the club, it could result in a new wave of people walking through the gates ahead of the new season, which can only be beneficial for the club as they continue to harbour that connection with their supporters and continuing to make football affordable to enjoy.
