Nottingham Forest sign Aston Villa defender Purchase on dual-registration deal | OneFootball

Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of Aston Villa defender Lauren Purchase on a dual-registration deal.

The Tricky Trees announced the transfer via a post on their official club website a short time ago.

The 18-year-old defender is yet to appear for Aston Villa at senior level, however, Purchase did make 21 appearances for The Villans in last season’s WSL Academy League. The player will be hoping to now get some first team playing experience under her belt with third tier side Nottingham Forest.

After signing on with the East Midlands side, Purchase said “I am delighted to be joining Forest Woman, the squad is focused and driven to succeed. The high paced, attack minded style of play suits me well.

“I’m very excited to be here and can’t wait for the season to begin; to play my part in our progressive season ahead.”

It is understood that Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa will work very closely to help Purchase develop in the best way possible in the upcoming season. The player is expected to feature for The Reds in the FA Women’s National League Northern Premier Division but she could also turn out for her parent club in the WSL Academy League once again.
