Nottingham Forest 'extremely disappointed' over hefty FA fine | OneFootball

Nottingham Forest have issued a statement after they were slapped with a £750,000 fine for a social media post.

The incident in question came following their 2-0 defeat to Everton on April 21st, in which they posted the following on their X account:

“Three extremely poor decisions – three penalties not given – which we simply cannot accept.

“We warned the PGMOL that the VAR is a Luton fan before the game but they didn’t change him. Our patience has been tested multiple times. NFFC will now consider its options.”

The FA has today responded with the charge for “improper conduct in that they imply bias and/or question the integrity of the Match Official[s] and/or the Video Assistant Referee and/or bring the game into disrepute.”

In response to that charge, Forest have doubled down on their actions.

“We are particularly concerned that The FA, in its submissions, sought a sanction “in excess of £1,000,000”,” their official statement read. “We believe that this request, along with the subsequent fine, is wholly disproportionate and the Club will be appealing the decision.”

Forest had former referee Mark Clattenburg working for them as a refereeing consultant at the time, but he has since left his position with the club.
