Nottingham Forest and Fenerbahçe are close to reaching an agreement over the transfer of Belgium international Michy Batshuayi (29), according to a report from Foot Mercato’s Santi Aouna. The former Marseille striker is set for a sensational return to the Premier League only a year after leaving Chelsea on a permanent move to sign with Fenerbahçe. Aouna understands that Batshuayi has agreed to the move and that the centre-forward is waiting for Fenerbahçe’s green light to fly to Nottingham and undergo his medical with Forest.
Following his €39m move from Marseille to Chelsea in 2016, Batshuayi was loaned out year in year out by the Blues. He joined Valencia in 2018, then Crystal Palace the two following years. Two years ago, he was loaned out to Beşiktaş but Batshuayi eventually joined the Black Eagles’ Istanbul-based rivals in Fenerbahçe. He had a prolific past campaign with the Yellow Canaries, logging 20 goals and two assists. Batshuayi was entering his final year of contract with Fenerbahçe. However, he is poised to return to the Premier League once an agreement is reached between the Süper Lig outside and Nottingham Forest.
