The Pink Un have reported that the 27-year-old is set to travel to England this week to finalise the move after talks with the Portuguese side rapidly increased over the weekend.

Kovacevic only just joined Sporting last summer, signing a five-year deal with a €60 million release clause, but after a season where he made just 10 Sporting appearances and was loaned out to Legia Warsaw mid-season, the Bosnian keeper is set to be on the move again, this time to Norwich.

Per the Pink Un, Norwich City have found their new number one in Bosnian shot stopper Vladan Kovacevic.

Sporting were ready to listen to offers for Kovacevic after he was frozen out of the side despite starting the season as their first-choice goalkeeper. His last couple of appearances for the Portuguese champions were back-to-back defeats against Santa Clara and Moreirense in November and December.

Sporting seem happy to make a loss on the 27-year-old, with the Canaries set to bring him to Carrow Road for an initial £2 million plus bonuses a year after the Leoes signed him for £4.1 million.

Signing a goalkeeper was one of the main deals which Norwich needed to do this summer, after Angus Gunn was let go at the culmination of the 2024/25 campaign following three years as the club's first-choice keeper.

Kovacevic has plenty of supporters at Norwich and was the club's primary target in his position this summer, with the goal being to get him in before pre-season begins. It seems like that will be the case, as it won't be long until they have their man.

Vladan Kovacevic was highly rated upon his arrival at Sporting last summer, after keeping 100 clean sheets in just over 200 games for both FK Sarajevo and Rakow prior to his move to the Jose Alvalade Stadium.

That momentum stalled significantly last season, with the 27-year-old playing just 19 times across his time at Sporting and his loan move to Legia Warsaw, but he did put in impressive performances during his loan spell back in Poland.

The Bosnian was in between the sticks for Legia's impressive 2-1 away win at Chelsea in the UEFA Conference League quarter-finals, showing glimpses of why he was brought in by the Portuguese giants in the first place.

At Carrow Road, you'd expect Kovacevic to find game time a lot more regularly than he has over the past 12 months, and if he can get back into the swing of playing week in, week out, Norwich may have found themselves a cheap gem to kickstart the Liam Manning era.
