Norwich City midfielder Gabriel Sara has admitted that his side will need to be on top form if they want to beat Ipswich Town following the Tractor Boys' excellent start to the season, speaking in an interview with Sky Sports.

Leicester City may be at the top of the table at the end, but Ipswich have been equally good and have arguably had an even more impressive season than the Foxes considering they were only promoted from League One just a matter of months ago.

Currently sitting in the automatic promotion zone, they are in a good position to secure a place in the Premier League, but can't afford to rest on their laurels with Leeds United also winning regularly.

Norwich, meanwhile, have been disappointing for a chunk of this campaign and at one point, it looked as though David Wagner was going to be sacked after a string of poor results.

Their rivals Ipswich seem destined to enjoy a much better season than them and that will be very painful for the Canaries after being above them in the football pyramid for a number of years.

There were even two divisions between the two teams at one point, with Norwich previously in the top flight.

Tomorrow, the arch-rivals face each other in the early kick-off at Portman Road, with Kieran McKenna's side the clear favourites to secure all three points.

It could be argued that the form book goes out of the window during a derby - but Sara knows how good his side will need to be to secure three points in Suffolk.

He said: "I can't wait for the atmosphere.

"I've heard a lot about this game and I'm so excited for it. I've met a lot of fans in the city or after games, and they always talk about just how important it is. Derby games are so important everywhere.

"We have a saying in Brazil that, in the derby, you never draw, you never lose, you just win. That is our mindset for this game. So we know what we have to do, and we know how well we have to play, because Ipswich have had a great season so far."

Ipswich Town v Norwich City prediction

On paper, it looks likely that Ipswich will win.

Norwich do have a good squad - but the Tractor Boys are in the better form and have the home advantage.

With this, it would be difficult to see them losing.

A draw is possible with both teams likely to give it their all - and you can never write Wagner's side off considering the quality they have.
