Both Thomas Delaney and Kasper Dolberg will leave TSG Hoffenheim at the end of the season and go back to their parent clubs, according to Sky Germany.

Hoffenheim loaned both players in on loan in January with the hopes of steering them clear of relegation. However, the duo haven’t affected results on the pitch as much as they’d have liked.

Delaney has only featured in six Bundesliga games since his arrival from Sevilla. It was hoped that the former Werder Bremen and Borussia Dortmund man would be able to adapt well at Hoffenheim having previously played in the Bundesliga. However, the 31-year-old was pretty much surplus to requirements.

It’s a similar situation for Dolberg who will be returning to OGC Nice. Dolberg played 13 times for Hoffenheim and scored one goal. However, both were never really in Pellegrino Matarazzo’s starting eleven.

Delaney and Dolberg will return to their respective clubs on June 30th.

Currently in 13th, Hoffenheim could still finish in the relegation play-off, however, a number of teams below them would all have to win.
