LFP President Nathalie Boy de la Tour confirmed that there would be no handshaking during the Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 matches this weekend.

On Tuesday, Minister of Sports, Roxana Maracineanu, appeared to suggest with a series of somewhat contradictory remarks, that there would be no cancellations relating to French football’s domestic action this weekend amid a rising number of cases of coronavirus in France.

Only the Ligue 2 clash between Chambly and Le Mans will be played behind closed doors.

de la Tour: “We are going to continue with the new protocol, because we have a duty to lead by example. There will be no hand shaking, as recommended by the Ministry of Health.”

The LFP will meet on Wednesday to discuss the ongoing coronavirus situation.
