Dominant Spain dazzle crowd in Valencia

Scorers: Soler 24′, Sarabia 75′

Spain increased their unbeaten run across all competition to 10 matches with a dominant performance against the Czech Republic.

After a fast start by the hosts, the Czech Republic grew into the match and, bar some Unai Simon heroics, could’ve been up by two within 20-minutes.

The Atheltic Club goalkeeper was visibly agitated and his eruption spurred Spain back into life. Marco Asensio showed good strength to hold off the defender before laying the ball on a plate for the onrushing Carlos Soler to open the score.

Spain dominated the encounter but were made to wait until the 75th-minute to put the game to bed. A swift-flowing move which involved Gavi, Dani Olmo and Ferran Torres was finished off as the back post by Pablo Sarabia.

Switzerland hold off Portugal thanks to Seferovic record goal

Scorers: Seferovic 1′

Depsite crushing Portuguese pressure, Switzerland hung on to claim their first points in this year’s Nations League thanks to Haris Seferovic’s goal after 57 seconds.

Switzerland were the better team in the opening exchanges and were ahead in the blink of an eye. Silvan Widmer’s inch-perfect cross was met by Seferovic whose header found the bottom corner.

Officially clocked in at 57 seconds, the goal is now the fastest in Nations League history.

Portugal struggled to fashion many goal-scoring opportunities before the introductions of Bernanrdo Silve and Digio Jota.

The Premier League duo injected life into the game but neither were able to get the better of Jonas Omlin in the Swiss goal.

Veteran defender Pepe came close twice in the dying exchanges but the Swiss held firm to claim their first win of the Nations League campaign.

Earlier today…

Scorers: Haaland 10′, 54′, Sørloth 77′; Frosberg 62′, Gyökeres 90’+5

Norway completed a historic win over Sweden, the first time they have beaten their Scandinavian counterparts at home since 1982.

Erling Haaland was instrumental throughout, scoring two goals and providing the assist for Norway’s third.

Sweden were second best for much of the encounter but goals from Emil Frosberg and Viktor Gyökeres kept the game close.
