Inter received a huge boost in their bid to sign Nicolò Barella last night when the player rejected a more lucrative offer than theirs from Roma, according to FcInterNews.it.
The Giallorossi’s new sporting director Gianluca Petrachi called Barella’s agent Alessandro Beltrami and offered a five-year deal worth €3 million per season.
Barella would earn €500,000 more by accepting the bid than he would at Inter, with whom he agreed personal terms a long time ago.
However, the player and Beltrami informed Petrachi they had made their decision to join Inter and would not change it.
Cagliari are hopeful of receiving more for Barella than the €36 million plus €4 million in bonuses which the Nerazzurri have offered.
Inter do not intend to get involved in bidding wars, though, despite reports yesterday suggesting Roma had agreed a deal with the Rossoblu.
Suning could offer Federico Dimarco on loan or a young player such as Lorenzo Gavioli permanently, but they will not make substantial changes to the offer.
Eder was linked with a deal last month but the Jiangsu Suning striker’s wages are far too expensive for Cagliari, meaning a move is almost impossible.
