L’Équipe report this afternoon that former Metz striker Nicolas De Préville is closing in on a move to second-tier German side Kaiserslautern on a short-term deal running until the end of the campaign.
The 32-year-old has been a free agent since leaving the Moselle side last summer, following a Ligue 1 campaign that had ended in relegation, and was undergoing his medical with the German outfit this morning.
The forward scored five goals in the French top flight in his solitary season with Metz, having previously spent four campaigns with Bordeaux where he found the net 17 times in all competitions following his move from Lille. Having previously turned out for Reims and formative club Istres, De Préville had scored a career-high 14 league goals during the 2016/17 season with Les Dogues. Kaiserslautern are currently in the race for promotion to the top flight, currently sitting fourth in the league.
