Italy U19s

Fabio Chiarodia and the Italy U19 national team played Switzerland on Saturday lunch time in European Championship qualification. The centre-back started the game and played the full 90 minutes, but his Italy side succumbed to a 1-0 defeat. Calixte Ligue scored in the 66th minute. This means that after two matchdays, Italy are in second place with three points – one place behind Switzerland.

Armenia

Grant-Leon Ranos was also in the starting eleven for Armenia, and played 72 minutes. In a crucial game in European qualifying, Armenia could only draw 1-1 against Wales and with group rivals Croatia winning, they have missed out on reaching the EUROs. The Borussia striker and his team took an early lead through Lucas Zelarayan (5’), before Nair Tiknizyan (45+2’) scored an own goal in additional time at the end of the first half, resulting in a 1-1 draw at full time.

On the penultimate matchday, Nico Elvedi (photo: IMAGO/Daniela Porcelli) and the Switzerland national team achieved qualification for the European Championships. The centre-back started the game and played the full 90 minutes. A 1-1 draw against Kosovo last night was enough to guarantee qualification. Ruben Vargas (47‘) put Switzerland ahead at the beginning of the second half, with Muhamet Hysen (82’) then scoring a late equaliser. Switzerland are still unbeaten in their group and on the final matchday (21st November) against Romania, who have also not lost so far, they can even win the group.
