After recovering from his life-threatening thrombosis, many América supporters were very eager to support Nico Castillo in his comeback this coming season.

However, Eagles fans may not get what they want, as ESPN’s John Sutcliffe claims the player will not be given an opportunity under Santiago Solari.

Sutcliffe reports that Castillo was informed to find a new club by the coaching staff, with the Chile international said to have confirmed this to the journalist as well.

Most likely, he will leave on loan for the 2021 Apertura campaign, either to another team in Mexico or to a club in Major League Soccer.

He still has a year and a half left on his contract, so it would not be surprising if he returns to the team in the future if he has a run of good form over the next six months.
