According to Foot Mercato, Nice sporting director Florent Ghisolfi is set to resign from his current post at the Allianz Riviera and enter discussions with Roma to become their new director of football for next season. The role at the Stadio Olimpico is vacant following Tiago Pinto’s dismissal in February.

With Francesco Farioli set to depart the Côte d’Azur club to join Ajax as their new manager, Ghisolfi is set to follow suit in what is set to be a summer of change at the Ligue 1 club. The Nice sporting director was appointed in 2022 after a spell in the recruitment department at Lens. He should end his two-year spell with Les Aiglons this summer.

Grégory Lorenzi is not expected to replace him

Ghisolfi’s upcoming departure has forced Nice to search for a new sporting director to fill the soon-to-be vacant position on the board at the Allianz Riviera. Brest sporting director Gregory Lorenzi was considered to be the favourite for the role. However, Foot Mercato report he is not expected to assume the role despite discussions between the respective parties. Rennes are also interested in Lorenzi.
