After leading Stade Brestois to the UEFA Champions League, sporting director Grégory Lorenzi had been expected to depart the Breton club. However, Foot Mercato understands that he is now set to stay at the club.

There is a sporting director merry-go-round but Lorenzi may not be on it. He had been heavily linked with the role at OGC Nice, however, they are set to take Florian Maurice from Stade Rennais, as per reports from L’Équipe, RMC Sport and Foot Mercato. Lorenzi had then also been linked with replacing Maurice at Rennes but former AC Milan and AS Roma sporting director Frédéric Massera is set to take the role at Roazhon Park. L’Équipe understands that the final steps are being taken before the Italian’s arrival is made official.
