With Jean-Clair Todibo (24) likely to depart this summer, OGC Nice are already evaluating potential successors to strengthen their backline and have set their sights on Al Ahly’s defender Mohamed Abdelmonem (25), reveals L’Equipe.

After three successful years at Nice, Todibo is set to leave the French Riviera this summer. The 24-year-old centre back is targeted by Juventus and West Ham United, with the latter having already found an agreement with Les Aiglons on a €35M deal. While Todibo is getting closer to exit, Nice don’t want to lose any time on the transfer market and are desperate to sign highly-rated Egyptian centre back Abdelmonem from Al Ahly.

According to L’Equipe, OGC Nice are set to send a first proposal to Egyptian outfit Al Ahly for Abdelmonem. With his current deal expiring next summer, Abdelmonem could live his first experience abroad at 25 years old. However, the Southern club is facing fierce competition from Bologna, who have made Abdelmonem one of their top priorities following Ricardo Calafiori’s transfer to Arsenal.
