The Neymar Jr. era at Paris Saint-Germain ended on Tuesday after his move to Al-Hilal became official. Both parties will begin new chapters and get fresh starts.

But why say yes to Saudi Arabia? Well, Neymar wants to be a global player, which likely means why he wants to play outside of Europe. The 31-year-old has already played on two continents and can now add Asia to his resume.

“I achieved a lot in Europe and had some special moments, but I always wanted to be a global player and test myself with new challenges and opportunities in new places,” Neymar said (h/t Paris Fans).

Neymar signed a two-year contract to continue his career at Al-Hilal. While playing on another continent may be enticing, the finances aren’t bad either.

The Saudi Arabian club will pay a reported transfer fee of €90 million to PSG to secure the player. Furthermore, the 2015 UEFA Champions League winner will receive an astonishing salary of €320 million for two seasons.

Other financial incentives also take center stage during the former PSG’s stint at Al-Hilal. Neymar stands to earn a substantial bonus of €80,000 for each victory Al-Hilal secures.
