Neymar has completed a €90m move to Saudi club Al-Hilal, with the fee making him the most expensive footballer in the history of the game.
The transfer fees paid for the Brazilian, from Santos to Barcelona, Barcelona to PSG, and now PSG to Al-Hilal, add up to a jaw-dropping €369m, taking Neymar beyond the €328m paid for Romelu Lukaku throughout his career.
The €222m PSG paid to sign Neymar from Barcelona in 2017 also remains the record sum paid for a player.
Al-Hilal also tried to sign Lionel Messi earlier this summer only for the Argentine to join Inter Miami.
Like with Messi, Barcelona were said to be interested in a reunion with Neymar but reports from Spain have suggested the finances of the deal would not have worked for the Blaugrana.
After two season of a front three consisting of Neymar, Messi and Kylian Mbappé, PSG have now seen two of those three superstars depart the club this summer.
Neymar leaves the Ligue 1 champions having scored 118 goals and provided 77 assists in 173 appearances for the club.
The Brazil star, who is also his country’s all-time top goalscorer, is the biggest name to join the Saudi Pro League since Cristiano Ronaldo’s move in January.
The winger will now team up with Sergej Milinković-Savić, Kalidou Koulibaly and Rúben Neves after they made big money moves from Europe to Al-Hilal this summer.
