News: Lee Dong-jun, Lee Dong-gyeong headline Gimcheon Sangmu 2024 mid-season intake | OneFootball

Jeonbuk's Lee Dong-jun and Ulsan's Lee Dong-gyeong headline the list of players heading to Gimcheon Sangmu this season to begin mandatory military service, it was announced by the Military Manpower Administration on Thursday 28th March.

There are 20 players on the list, including Gangwon FC youngster Lee Seung-won, and Korean internationals Lee Dong-jun, Lee Dong-gyeong who'll all arrive just before Gimcheon's summer exodus with 17 players set to be discharged from military service on July 15th.

Last month, the Armed Forces Athletic Corps conducted fitness tests on 59 players and after a screening process, selected 20 players. The players who passed this time will enlist in the military on April 29th and perform their national defense duties for one year and six months.

Gimcheon won promotion back to K League 1 last year, meaning the mid-season intake will be able to ply their trade in the top flight. For some like Won Ki-jong and Kim Chan it will be a first taste of K League 1.
